Joining Manx Paragliers is easy and you will be helping the club by ensuring that we have the funds for our annual festive season run to distribute gifts to the farmers, land owners and land operators who allow us to use their land for take offs and landings. We also use funds for costs associated with site maintenance.
With sufficient funding we will be able to hold more educational, training and social events. We also aim to install our own weather stations in time to give us a more complete picture to that already obtained from the Isle of Man Government’s weather stations.
Irrespective of the level of membership that you take out, you will need to hold valid third party insurance for paragliding or hang gliding of a type equivalent to or better than that provided to BHPA members.
Membership Types
Full Membership is available to you if you are a minimum 16 years of age, qualified to BHPA Club Pilot (or equiavlent IPPI level) or higher and a BHPA Full Flying Member. Fee £20.00 if paid by bank transfer or £21.00 if paid by PayPal.
Associate Membership is for those who are unable to meet the requirements of a Full Member as described above. Fee £10.00 if paid by bank transfer or £10.50 if paid by PayPal.
Visitor Membership is for pilots visiting the island for up to 30 days in any one calendar year. Fee £5 if paid by bank transfer or £5.50 if paid by PayPal.
There are three level of membership – Full Member, Associate Member and Visitor Member. Full Membership costs £20 per annum, Associate Membership costs £10 per annum and Visitor Membership costs £5 for 30 days in any calendar year. There is a small supplement if you pay by PayPal.
To join as a Full Member, you must be:
- at least 16 years of age
- qualified to Club Pilot or higher
- a BHPA Full Flying Member
To join as a Full Members you pay a fee of £20.00 if paid by bank transfer or £21.00 if paid by PayPal.
If you are unable to meet the requirements of a Full Member then you will need to join as an Associate Member in which case you do not qualify for voting rights. The fee is £10.00 if paid by bank transfer or £10.50 if paid by PayPal.
To join as a Visitor Member, the fee is £5.00 for 30 days in any calendar year if paid by bank transfer or £5.50 if paid by PayPal.
